Bill Murden, CSA
President
Bill Murden has served as the President and CEO of
FamilyCare Senior Solutions, Inc. since co-founding the company in 1983.
Under Bill’s guidance, FamilyCare has become a leader in helping
individuals and families throughout Southeastern Virginia handle the many
changes and challenges that come with aging.
Bill began his career in healthcare management over 30 years ago when
he joined the staff of Portsmouth General Hospital – a 325-bed acute
care facility with 1,100 employees – as the Director of Human Resources.
Prior to joining Portsmouth General, he served as Director of Personnel
for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia.
A Certified Senior Advisor, he has served on the board of directors of
many community organizations, including the United Way of South Hampton
Roads; Help and Emergency Response (HER), a shelter for battered women;
the Planning Council of Tidewater; and the Portsmouth Area United Way.
Other boards on which Bill has served reflect his concern for aging-related
issues, such as the Emily Green Shores Adult Home, the Portsmouth Mayor’s
Commission on Aging, the Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging and the Virginia Beach Task
Force on Aging. He currently serves as president of Senior Services of Southeastern
Virginia, the federally designated Area Agency of Aging.
Bill is married with two adult children and two grandchildren. He is a
Vietnam veteran and lifelong resident of Hampton Roads Virginia.
